Classics in the snow: The ICE St. Moritz

Where else in the world can you see practically priceless classics getting sideways in the snow other than St. Moritz? (Image: NM2255/YouTube)

While most concours events are held on the most pristine lawns at golf clubs and palaces, one concours event is just a little bit different.

That would be The International Concours of Elegance – ‘The ICE’ – with its acronym giving a clue as to just how this event differs from others of its kind.

Rather than be held somewhere with finer weather, its held on the frozen-over lake of St. Moritz, Switzerland. Unlike most concours events, it’s not just a static display, because many of the cars take to a track carved out of the ice and snow to go drifting.

After a few tumultuous years for the event, with cancellations or drastic changes due to everything from the pandemic to the lake melting prematurely to even having too much snow last year, 2025 was finally the year the event could return to its fullest glory.

Just see for yourself in the video below how surreal the scenes from this event can be. Is this the world’s most unique concours event?
