Shane Jacobson’s MGB and a genuine Rockford Files Firebird among RR Auctions standouts for May 2026

RR Auctions’ latest timed sale has kicked off for the month of May, with an eclectic array of classic rides and modern performance cars.

Headlining the lots, which are open for bidding from May 24 to June 3, is Retro Rides brand ambassador Shane Jacobson’s own 1963 MGB.

A beautifully restored early chrome bumper example, it’s powered by the early 1798cc BMC Austin B-Series inline-four with twin SU carburettors, mated to a four-speed three-synchro manual gearbox. It has also been repainted in a stunning shade of Pageant Blue.

Also atop the listings page is a 1978 Pontiac Firebird that was screen-used in The Rockford Files and driven by James Garner.

Not only does this Firebird present in excellent condition, but it also comes complete with an array of memorabilia from the late Garner’s personal collection including production photographs, ephemera from the series, his original Rockford Files spray jacket, a custom shirt, and a sport jacket believed to have been worn during the 1990s reunion films.

The Japanese contingent is headed by a stunning 2002 Mazda RX-7 Bathurst R. Fitted with a custom widebody kit and featuring a single-turbo conversion, it’s one of the best presented and well-tuned examples of a modified JDM car we’ve come across.

A strong array of Porsches also feature, most notably a 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 finished in Racing Yellow and fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox behind its atmo 4.0-litre flat-six.

You’ll also find a 1975 911S Targa 2.7, 1987 911 3.2 Targa, 2004 Cayenne Turbo, and a 1978 Automobili Intermeccanica 356 Speedster Replica on that front.

Following the successful sale of a GT350R-inspired 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback in our April sale, this month you’ll find a 1967 Mustang Coupe powered by a 351ci small block V8.

Two distinctly Aussie Fast Fords also feature in the form of a pre-production 2002 FPV GT and a low-mileage 2005 FPV GT-P.

Fret not, GM fans – alongside an LSA-swapped HSV Clubsport VX, you’ll find two Chevrolet Corvettes. A split-window 1963 C2 Stingray is complemented by a more recent 2024 C8 Stingray Z51.

To check out the full catalogue and to place your bids, head over to the RR Auctions website. Bidding closes June 3, 2026.
