A fascinating new brand experience centre celebrating the shared past, present, and future of Volvo has moved into the heart of Gothenburg, Sweden.
If ever a brand deserves a museum it is Volvo. The Volvo Group started in 1927, when the first car, a Volvo ÖV 4, rolled off the production line at the factory in Hisingen, Gothenburg.
Everything from this iconic original, all the way to their latest car models, trucks, buses and other products. The museum also included exhibits on Volvo Aero and Volvo Penta products, as well as interesting displays like the joint desk of Assar Gabrielsson and Gustaf Larson, the founders of Volvo.
Unfortunately, the Volvo Museum closed its doors just before Christmas 2023. The good news is that many of the heritage/museum functions have been transferred to a new location: the World of Volvo exhibition and conference center.
This new facility opened its doors in April 2024, and is located in a more central location within Gothenburg.
