A big money bid of $395,500 is what it took to secure this 1975 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0 when this mint motor was sold this week on Collecting Cars.
A rare and iconic modern classic performance car, this 930-generation 911 Turbo remained under the ownership of one family until now, and benefitted from an extensive restoration and engine rebuild between 2010 and 2014.
Number 229 of only 284 units built for the 1975 model year, and believed to be one of only six right-hand drive examples built to comply with Australian Design Rules, this is a highly sought-after 'first year' variant of the 930 Turbo.
This example is believed to have covered just 28,305km which includes some time spent on the roads of the UK, where the original owner collected it as part of the 'tourist delivery' program. This allowed them to experience this Turbo 3.0 on European roads before it was shipped Down Under.
Complete with 15-inch Fuchs alloys, Recaro seats and a whale-tail spoiler, this example has been specified perfectly. The number of original booklets and maintenance records attest to the meticulous condition it's been kept in, too.
