On the eve of celebrating its 115th anniversary, iconic Italian car maker Alfa Romeo has again triumphed at the 43rd edition of the 1000 Mille, with a 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport taking line honours, joined on the podium by an Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 SS and a 6C 1750 GS Spider Zagato.
The distinctive sound of highly strung Alfa Romeos making their way across Italy was again heard echoing along the legendary roads of this year’s 1000 Miglia, mesmerizing crowds in unforgettable style.
Team Villa Trasqua’s 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport, driven by the duo of Vesco-Salvinelli, was the first to cross the finish line at the 43rd edition of the historical re-enactment of the “most beautiful race in the world”.
Joining it on the podium were the Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 SS, driven by the Argentinian team of Erejomovich – Llanos, and the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Spider Zagato, driven by the duo of Tonconogy-Ruffini.

One vehicle in particular captured hearts and turned heads along the route: the 1956 Alfa Romeo 1900 Super Sprint, which is part of the Stellantis Heritage Collection and usually on display at the Alfa Romeo Historical Museum in Arese.
On board the “gran turismo” coupé was the Luna Rossa team, solidifying the partnership between the famed Italian sailing crew and the Turin-based car maker.
Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa are gearing up for the upcoming America’s Cup, due to be held for the first time in Italy during the spring and summer of 2027, against the spectacular backdrop of the Gulf of Naples.
The sight of the Alfa Romeo 1900 Super Sprint whipping through corners and powering up steep hills showcased once again the blend of elegance and sportiness that made it the preferred coupé of gentlemen drivers in the 1950s.

Alongside the legends of yesteryear, Alfa Romeo showcased its latest creations, including the high-performance Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sport – the special series dedicated to the brand’s first victory at the 1000 Miglia – the Tonale C-SUV, and the Junior Hybrid Q4.
Enthusiasts also had the opportunity to admire the new 33 Stradale, which made its dynamic road debut. Produced in just 33 exclusive examples, the custom-built car marks the return of the legendary 33 Stradale – an icon of the 1960s and widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cars of all time.
Much like the 1900 Super Sprint in the race, the new 33 Stradale has also been made in collaboration with Milan-based coachbuilder Touring Superleggera in a world-exclusive production process.
Alfa’s relationship with the 1000 Miglia dates back to the event’s earliest days, but most notably to the 1930 race when the legendary Tazio Nuvolari teamed up with Giovanni Battista Guidotti to triumph aboard a 6C 1750. That win marked the first time a driver averaged 100km/h over the entire competition, a feat even more incredible given the crude and unpaved roads of the time.
