The 2025 Goodwood Revival is set to celebrate 100 years of Alfa Romeo’s motorsport success dating back to the inaugural Manufacturer’s World Championship

This year’s Goodwood Revival will bring together a collection of classic Alfa Romeo race cars to mark the centenary of the marque’s victory in the inaugural Manufacturer’s World Championship.

The Brits may have bailed on the European Union and Parmigiano Reggiano may be in short supply, but that won’t prevent hordes of Alfisti from crossing the channel to help celebrate famed Italian marque Alfa Romeo at this year’s Goodwood Revival.

Scheduled to take place from Friday 12 - Sunday 14 September, this year’s Revival is placing Alfa on the pedestal to celebrate the brand’s domination of motorsport in various theatres over the decades.

That includes the 50th anniversary of the marque’s victory at the 1975 World Sportscar Championship, and the 100th anniversary of Alfa Romeo claiming victory in the inaugural Manufacturer’s World Championship.

The on-track tribute will feature memorials to some of the legendary drivers who delivered Alfa Romeo some of its greatest successes, including Antonio Ascari, Juan Manuel Fangio, Giuseppe Farina, and Tazio Nuvolari

Star attractions at the Revival will include on-track demonstration featuring a collection of cars from Alfa’s competitive racing history, and memorials to the legendary drivers who piloted these machines.

Included in that list are four-time Grand Prix winner Antonio Ascari; five-time World Champion Juan Manuel Fangio; five-time Grand Prix winner and first World Drivers’ Champion Giuseppe Farina; and Alfa Romeo’s most famous and celebrated pre-war driver Tazio Nuvolari.

If Alfas aren’t your thing at the Goodwood Revival, then former long-hair types might enjoy the VW Type 2 Split Screen track opening parade.

The 2025 Goodwood Revival’s opening parade will celebrate 75 years of the iconic Volkswagen Type 2 ‘Split Screen’

Set to be the most varied collection of Volkswagen Type 2 ‘Split Screens’ to be brought together, the opening parade will celebrate 75 years of the iconic van.

Speaking ahead of the event, Goodwood Revival founder The Duke of Richmond CBE DL said: “The Goodwood Revival has a long history of celebrating significant vehicles – everything from the Mini and Fiat 500, to the Ferrari 250 GTO and Jaguar D-Type. This year it is the turn of the ‘Split Screen’ Volkswagen Type 2, which celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2025.

“The Type 2 is more than just an automotive icon; it is a cultural phenomenon, equally at home in campervan form on a hippie encampment or family holiday camp, as a delivery van, or even as a race car transporter. We will be celebrating this variety by bringing together a wonderfully varied collection of VW Type 2s, which will open the track each morning in colourful fashion, and pop up across the Revival site.”

The Goodwood Revival will run from September 12-14, 2025 at Goodwood House, West Sussex, England.
