Description
This 1971 Ford Falcon XY Fairmont is a wonderful example of an original vehicle.
Well-known and even more well-loved, the XY was a facelift of the XW and the last of Ford’s second-generation Falcon.
Sold new at Fairway Ford, this XY has been with the current owners for the last 20 years.
It is powered by a 4.1L (250ci) six-cylinder engine and features a three-speed column-shift automatic transmission. Finished in its original Nugget Gold paint, the XY has received an older restoration and still presents rather tidily.
The Light Saddle interior remains largely original and demonstrates a push-button radio. The XY comes with its original books and a small file of receipts.
Keep original or upgrade to a V8; the XY is a beautiful car with plenty of potential. Eligible for historic registration, join one of the many Ford clubs and enjoy minimal on-road costs and a community of like-minded enthusiasts.
This is a beautiful example of an Aussie classic with some great history that would make the perfect weekend cruiser.
