Description
The Minis keep coming at Collectable Classics with this 1966 Morris Mini Cooper S.
This Mini is an original Australian-built Cooper S finished in British Racing Green. While not matching numbers, the Mini still runs a ‘9F/Sa/Y’ prefix 1275cc which is only 6 digits away from the original motor and was fit by the car’s second owner in Sep 1984.
The car was stripped back to bare metal, rust repaired and resprayed in its original colours in 1999 by Graham Buchan Smash Repairs in NSW and still presents wonderfully for the age of the resto.
The engine was stripped, checked, and the valves reseated in 2017 along with the front brakes overhauled by Power Brakes, the thermostat replaced, the seats restrapped and padded, a new clutch plate and diaphragm fitted, the exhaust manifold repaired, and the carburettors overhauled.
A set of Minilites finishes the car off beautifully, as well as a Pioneer radio and amplifier. The Mini comes with a small file of receipts and is eligible for historic registration.
