Time-lapse: The Alfararri - 1974 Alfa GTV 2000

We never tire of restomods at Retro Rides, because we love watching neglected hulks brought back to motoring life... with a twist.

This 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 is a classic example of the breed. Abandoned under a tree, it was stripped to bare metal and rebuilt single-handedly.

But instead of sourcing a replacement 2.0-litre engine, Jeff decided to drop a 3.6-litre V8 from a 2000 Ferrari 360 under the bonnet instead. He also added power steering - presumably to help with the 20 per cent heavier engine - and air conditioning.

It's an amazing restoration, this one, and well worth 15 minutes of your time.

The only problem now is the name. We reckon it should be called the AlfaRarri GTV 3600.
