The horror of Honda’s 1990s performance icon, abandoned and neglected in the woods. Luckily for this Honda, the problems were nothing that a serious session in the detailing shop – and a few minor replacements – couldn’t fix.
The Honda NSX was a legendary two-seater, mid-engined sports car produced by Honda from 1990 to 2005. It carved a niche for itself with a focus on both high performance and reliability, challenging the dominance of temperamental Italian exotics of the time.
The NSX was the first production car to use an all-aluminium chassis, making it lightweight and agile. A 3.0-litre V6 engine with Honda’s VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) system provided exhilarating power and a smooth driving experience. Later versions like the one in this video featured a more powerful 3.2-litre iteration of this quick-revving engine.
Sharp handling and responsive steering – tuned with input from F1 legend Ayrton Senna – made the NSX a blast to drive on both the road and the racetrack.
Yet, despite its sporty nature, the NSX offered a surprisingly comfortable interior and decent practicality for a two-seater.
So, even though production ended in 2005, the NSX’s legacy lives on. It’s a reminder that a car can be both thrilling and reliable, a true driver’s machine with everyday usability.
Today, these classic NSXs are sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
