Retro Rides contributor Scott Newman facing cancer battle

Scott is a well-established motoring journo who has written and presented for many outlets including here at Retro Rides

Talented motoring journalist and Retro Rides contributor Scott Newman is undergoing cancer treatment, and we’re encouraging fans and supporters to assist by donating to his GoFundMe page.

A recent addition to the Retro Rides team, Scott has penned several memorable stories for us, including his recent video and feature on the amazing low-kilometre barn find XY GT Falcon.

You can check out some of Scott’s other Retro Rides features here:

A husband to Carly and father to young son Finn,  Scott has a difficult battle ahead of him and is currently working as a freelance motoring writer, so doesn’t have the fallback of company sick-leave.

Prior to his recent association with Retro Rides, Scott had a decorated career working at some of the biggest and best-known automotive media brands in the company, including CarSales, Motor and Unique Cars.

A talented steerer and excellent road tester, he’s perhaps best known for unflinching new car reviews, but also has a genuine love of Classics.

Scott also has his own Instagram page where his well-honed driving skills and passion for high-performance cars are on full display.

Unfortunately, Scott won’t be drifting Bentleys, Corvettes or Lambos for a little while, but we’re hoping that with the help of the motoring-enthusiast community we can support him through his treatment and help get him back behind the wheel, the keyboard and in front of the camera as soon as possible.

GoFundMe campaign has been set-up to help support Scott and his family. Money raised will help relieve some of the financial pressures on Scott and his family and allow him to focus on getting better.

Donate here today.
