The 928 was brought out as a grand tourer for high speed trips over long distances and are comfortable , powerful and excellent handling cars . Currently undervalued they represent a great entry point with a high level of engineering and finish. The 928 was the first ground up design for Porsche and represented every thing that Porsche had to offer at a time when engineers ran the company not accountants . The S4 was a turning point in the 928 lineup with an all new 5.0 litre 32 valve engine and bodywork facelift. Reported as the fastest production car in the world in 1987.
