KEY FACTS

This Triumph GT6 MkIII is a rare example of the desirable and highly collectable classic sporting British coupe which has been meticulously upkept and loved.

It is powered by the responsive 2.0-litre overhead valve straight-six ( under that wonderful Clam Shell bonnet) which drives the rear wheels via a four-speed synchromesh manual transmission with overdrive.

The odometer shows 98,100 miles ( approx.)

Originally a UK-market example, this GT6 was later exported to Australia, and is now located in a storage facility in Queensland.

The car underwent major services in 2022, 2023 and 2024 when a number of new and recommissioned parts were fitted to make the ultimate period correct, straight up weekender.

This is an affordable way to add to or start a collection of rapidly appreciating unique British sports cars.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

The very collectable MkIII GT6 boasts revised bodywork mirroring the design of the Spitfire Mk IV, which included a cut-off rear end, recessed door handles, and smoother front quarters. With the unique retro chrome the air vents are the front – it’s a real head turner just standing still !

This example features the handsome Pimento Red paintwork, a black vinyl-trimmed interior with headrests, and exceptionally well maintained original burr walnut veneer trim on the dashboard. All straight and OG.

It rides on a set of 13-inch steel wheels with polished trim rings and centres, fitted with Dunlop SP Sport tyres.

The vehicle will be accompanied by an original owner’s manual, along with a selection of maintenance receipts, photographs, two keys, and the original tool kit which includes the jack.

CONDITION

The Pimento Red paintwork is in excellent condition, showing only very light minor wear such as tiny stone chips on the front end.

Inside, the cabin is exceptional, with very light wear on the black vinyl-trimmed seats. There is hardly any wear on the carpets, and the driver controls also have a wonderful patina.

The Moto-Lite drilled out original steering wheel just looks and feels like a classic race car from the 70’s.

SERVICE HISTORY

This GT6’s latest services ( in 2023 and 2024) and full mechanical and electrical overhaul were carried by the specialist British Car mechanical restoration team at Classic Car Clinic in Burleigh Heads by Steve and Gary. It runs like an absolute dream. Full receipts will be provided.

Prior services , the earlier owner, was carried out in June 2022 at 96,593 miles by Greg Tunstall Mechanical. The work comprised of an engine oil and filter change, along with an inspection and the replacement of the ignition coil, fuel pump, and speedometer seals, as well as the reconditioning of the carburettors, front brakes, reverse light, rear brakes, steering rack, and a re-packing of the front wheel bearings with grease.

Prior to this, the car was serviced at 89,067 miles by Albert Johnson Restoration in Sydney, which was a full service.
