Stunning 1936 Delage takes top honours at 2026 Sydney Harbour Concours

Over 45 meticulously restored and maintained historic and iconic vehicles were on show at the 2026 Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance, held from February 27 to March 1 on Cockatoo Island, but one car stood out above the rest to claim ‘Best of Show’ honours.

After a panel of international judges assessed all the vehicles included in the eclectic display, a beautiful 1936 Delage D6-70 Milord Cabriolet was crowned as the car that stood out above the rest.

Featuring coachwork by Figoni et Falaschi, the Delage was one of a broad array of cars entered into the event, which included everything from a 1933 Rolls-Royce 20/25 that was crowned ‘Best of Show Pre-War’, while a 2023 Ford GT took out the ‘Generation Alpha’ class title.

Ahead of the event, Retro Rides was given a ride along to a pre-event display in a 1971 Toyota Celica GT, which on Sunday was given the honour of ‘Best Restoration’.

Over 2000 car lovers were in attendance at the event, all experiencing extraordinary vehicles and lifestyle elements across three days in the middle of Sydney Harbour.

“The eighth edition of the Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance has seen a wonderful atmosphere as people enjoyed the vehicles on display and the car parades with expert commentary, and they love being able to talk with the owners and judges to discover more about these stunning cars,” said event founder Mr James Nicholls.

“The event is growing and developing each year as we add experiences and interactions. Significantly, this year we added the special public preview opportunity ahead of the official event and it was so fabulous to share around 30 amazing cars with people before a stunning convoy across the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

“Sydney continues to embrace the concours and we are excited about the future.”
