Across 60 countries this weekend, thousands of classic car drivers are set to hit the road for the 2024 Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive to raise funds to support men’s mental health.

Set to take place on Sunday September 29, a total of 182 individual drive events will be held everywhere from Australia and England – the two largest with over 440 registered drivers apiece – to places as far flung as Chile, Slovakia, and Nepal.

These drive events are open to pre-1980s vehicles, with participants encouraged to dress in dapper, period-correct clothing.

Globally, over 4730 drivers are enrolled at the time of writing, with more than US$333,450 (A$482,490) raised so far for the event’s charity partner, Movember.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive and Movember have been working together since the former’s first drive event in 2021.

This year’s global drive follows a record year in 2023 with over US$400k (A$578k) raised to support men’s mental health programs in Australia and around the world.

With under 24 hours to go, any interested drivers can still register and find an event near them through the organisation’s website.

Other classic car events to be aware of over the coming months include the Berry Motorfair and Geelong Revival in November 2024, along with the Canberra Festival of Speed in January 2025.
