The TWR Supercat: V12-engined, 600hp Jaguar XJS

TWR has released details of its limited-edition Super-GT, a V12-powered 600hp beast dubbed the Supercat.

Tom Walkinshaw Racing Performance says the TWR Super-GT is the result of more than two years of extensive design, engineering and development work.

The Super-GT is built on the foundations of the iconic Jaguar XJS coupe, a car Aussies will remember won the Bathurst 1000 in 1985.

In fact, V12 coupes were run internationally by TWR in the mid-1980s, winning both the European Touring Car Championship and Spa 24 Hour race. The results cemented the XJS as a touring car legend.

Just 88 examples of the TWR Supercat will be built, each with the stunning carbon-fibre body finished in green as pictured, priced from GBP 225,000 ($430,000)

The TWR Supercat has a supercharged V12 producing more than 600hp (450kW) and is the first of a new generation of cars from the celebrated performance car brand.

TWR is now run by Tom Walkinshaw’s son Fergus, who says the Supercat is inspired by “TWR’s performance and racing car history”.

“TWR’s performance and motorsport DNA are evidenced in every element of the car. We cannot wait for clients to experience the most dynamic and visceral evocation of this British Icon.”
