Desirable exotics headline RM Sotheby’s Milan 2025 auction

RM Sotheby’s latest sale is set to take place in Milan, where a number of highly desirable exotic and classic cars are set to cross the auction block.

Taking place on Thursday May 22, 2025, the auction is headlined by 14 cars valued at or over the €1 million mark.

At the top of the list is a stunning 1934 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Lungo Cabriolet by Pinin Farina, originally exhibited by its original owner, Prince Filiberto of Savoy-Genoa, at the 1933 Monte Carlo Concours d’Elegance. It’s valued between €3.5-4.5 million.

Just behind it is an even more iconic entry, a 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV by Bertone. A US-delivered Rosso Corsa model and one of 150 SVs built, it’s valued in excess of €3.2 million.

Other iconic cars include a 1989 Ferrari F40 with a €2.4-2.8 million guide price, along with a pair of Mercedes-Benz 300 SLs, a 1956 Gullwing and 1962 Roadster both valued in the €2 million region.

A 1954 Gullwing, one of several cars from The Stuttgart Legends Collection, is also among the listings at €1.1-1.5 million. Several race-spec Porsches including a 2002 GT3 RS that raced at Le Mans, Sebring, and Daytona also hail from the same collection.

Other racing vehicles on offer include a 2001 McLaren MP4-16 in which David Coulthard won the 2001 Austrian Grand Prix. It’s valued at €1.4-1.6 million, but only comes fitted with a non-running “dummy engine”.

A 2008 Aston Martin DBR9 GT1 endurance racer is also to be found at a guide price of €1.5-1.8 million.

Some newer exotic cars can also be found in the listings, none more prominent than a 2010 Lamborghini Reventón Roadster. One of only 15 roadster examples of the fighter jet-inspired hypercar, it’s valued between €1.3-1.6 million.

Not everything involved in the sale wears a seven-digit price tag, though. Befitting of the Milanese location is a 1967 Autobianchi Bianchina Furgoncino. This adorable van comes wearing a promotional Castrol livery and is offered without reserve at a guide price of €30-40k.

Some automotive paraphernalia is also up for grabs, including Michael Schumacher’s 2004 and 2005 Ferrari racing suits. There’s also a Ferrari 360 Modena engine that has been transformed into a coffee table offered with no reserve.

The full list of available lots can be viewed on the RM Sotheby’s website.
