As Formula 1 racing rides a big wave of popularity, a new video game dubbed Formula Legends is set to capitalise on that by celebrating each era of the sport that has led to the present day.

Billed by its developer 3DClouds as “a love letter to Formula racing”, it isn’t an officially-licensed game but does feature 16 unique vehicle models inspired by F1 cars spanning from the 1960s through to the current era. Likewise, there are 14 circuits to race on which have also been inspired by historic racing locations.

But even without officially-licensed cars and tracks, there’s still plenty of detail that has gone into the game’s features. A dynamic weather system, pit stops with refuelling, tyre wear, and even tracks that get grippier the more you race on them and rubber them in.

Due to launch later in 2025, the game will be available on virtually every console and platform including PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can watch the announcement trailer below to get a taste of what to expect.
