Many Australians will know the Monbulk name from the popular brand of jam that has adorned our breakfast toast since 1909, but fewer will know the picturesque hamlet in Victoria’s Dandenong ranges is also home to a cracking good car show each March.
The 15th annual Monbulk Car Show is set to fire up on Sunday March 22, promising a packed day of festivities, live music, kids rides, prizes for spectators and trophies for winning entrant cars.
“If you love your car and it has an engine, not an electric motor, we want to see it at Monbulk,” says event organiser Richard.
“Whether you’re the custodians of a family heirloom, an older classic, custom or vintage car, rod, modified, European, Aussie, Japanese or American, they’re all welcome at the Monbulk Car Show.”

Describing the event as both a great car show and community event, Richard said the main street will be closed to regular traffic for the day, with local shops open and community groups offering affordable food and drink throughout the day.
“We regularly get 5,000 attendees each year and expect the numbers to be the same this year, assuming the weather Gods smile on us,” he added.
“All proceeds go to our three local CFA brigades, Monbulk, Kallista and Macclesfield, who need all the support they can get this fire season.”
The 15th Monbulk Car Show will be held on Sunday March 22 between 10-3pm in the town’s main street.
